ABOUT US

Lonna Buer is a journal for travel and hotels. Honest guides for the curious traveler, written by working travel editors, not salesmen. We book, pay for and stay in what we review, then publish the rate we paid and the parts of the trip that did not work.

Who we are

We are a small crew of travel editors, hotel reviewers and route analysts who got tired of press releases pretending to be advice. Lonna Buer started publishing in 2026 as a one-person travel notebook and grew as readers kept asking for the same thing: a straight answer about what a stay, a tour or a trail is really worth.

Our mission

Every week we publish free guides on vineyard tours, riverside stays, wildlife safaris, wellness hotels and backpacking trails. You get real 2026 rates, honest coverage of fees and conditions, and recommendations you can act on this afternoon, with no affiliate spin choosing the winner.

Editorial standards

No sponsored picks, no pay-to-rank lists. We buy at retail what we test, disclose any relationship before it matters, and correct mistakes in public within 48 hours. Numbers come from our own bookings and published park, weather and fare records, never from a brand's marketing deck. If a hotel, tour or route fails in real use, we say so.

The team

Lonna Buer runs the desk as founder and editor. Reporting comes from contributing hotel reviewers and route analysts who file their own expenses, and every guide is checked by a second editor before it ships. None of us take payment from the properties, operators or carriers we cover.

Talk to us

Corrections, pitches and reader questions are welcome at [email protected] or through our contact page. We reply within one business day, and we read every note. If we got something wrong, tell us and we will fix it where everyone can see the change.
